This commitment to quality of life is exemplified in the city’s new initiative to develop the Sugar Hill Greenway, an 11.5 mile greenway around the city with approximately 16.5 miles of trail. The paved path is intended for shared use by pedestrians, bicyclists, wheelchair users, and joggers.

The vision of Sugar Hill is to develop a vibrant city with a bustling downtown area. With its intelligent and ambitious design plans, Sugar Hill is well on it’s way to achieving that status. There is E. E. Robinson Park located at 650 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. There are two entrances and two separate areas:

The Baseball Complex is 53 acres and in addition to baseball fields it has covered playgrounds, pavilions, tennis courts and sand volleyball.

The Multi-Purpose Complex is 66 acres and has a field with a lighted track, tennis courts, playground, pavilion, an interactive fountain and a 1 mile paved trail.

Another option is the Gary Pirkle Park located at 6195 Austin Garner Road. This park is situated on 67 acres of land. It has 3 synthetic turf fields and 2 natural grass fields. There is also a giant playground under a 90 foot solar powered pavilion, 1.7 miles of paved and lighted walking trails, public WiFi, two concession facilities, picnic pavilions and a community garden.

The Bowl at Sugar Hill

The Bowl at Sugar Hill is located at 5039 West Broad Street, in the heart of town and it’s where residents go to unwind and have some fun. The Bowl is an award winning concert venue with seating for up to 1,000 people. It is used for concerts and outdoor movies and is also available for rental by city residents. Past and coming acts include Blues Traveler, Boz Scaggs, Third Eye Blind, The Village People and Michael Bolton. Check their calendar to see what’s coming up!

The Splash Park

The Splash Park is a wonderful area for families with children. There are 21 zones with a total of 70 nozzles. What a great way to keep the kids cool on those hot summer days. Parents can keep an eye on the kids from one of the picnic tables under the large shade sail next to the splash park. At night the fountain becomes a colorful choreographed fountain with 93 color changing LED lights.

Ice Rink at Sugar Hill

The Ice Rink at Sugar Hill has the distinction of being the biggest portable outdoor skating rink in the South East! The Ice Rink gives residents a real taste of winter. Did you know the Ice Rink at Sugar Hill is the same size as the ice rink at Rockefeller Center in New York City? They also offer free skate trainers and safety helmets for the children. Don’t know how to skate? No problem, they offer skating lessons to adults and children. Once you’re tired from all of that skating be sure to visit the concession stand for hot chocolate and other snacks!
