President Jimmy Carter calls Atlanta home, and in his honor, The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum is located on Atlanta real estate as well. Documenting the Carter Presidency, which lasted from 1976 to 1981, the Museum displays a wealth of memorabilia and photographs from his time in office. A portion of this Atlanta real estate is even an authentically detailed copy of the Oval Office where President Carter spent many hours creating United States history. There is also a timeline showcasing President Carter’s life including childhood moments, political career and personal achievements. The Presidential Library is filled with relevant documents pertaining to the Carter Presidency and is available to the public. Researchers are welcome to peruse the materials at their leisure weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum is conveniently located close to downtown Atlanta. Open seven days a week, museum hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and Sunday from 12 to 4:45 p.m. Admission is an affordable $8.00 per person with discounts available for seniors, military and college students.
